"My First Responder husband and I have done marriage things before, but this is the FIRST time we didn't feel we needed to say, 'but you don't understand.' This OXYGEN retreat that is specific to First Responders is critical. We weren't just in a fight for our marriage but also for his life. PTS is real and not a brush-off matter. I looked around the room and realized I wasn't alone. WE aren't alone. The lingo, stories, dialogue — it let our, 'but you don't understand,” walls come down.
